Ms. Whitney Rene Jackson - 21, passed away April 20, 2012 at Sparrow Hospital. Family and Friends will gather in the sanctuary of Tabernacle of David, 2645 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, MI, on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 10:00am with services starting promptly at 11:00am, Pastor Larry Trice and Pastor Tarenoe Lauchie, Officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Whitney Rene Jackson was born on September 14, 1990 in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of LaConya and Damian Murchison and L. Wayne (Gina) Jackson. Whitney accepted Christ as a child and was for many years an active member of the Tabernacle of David Church. She sang in the youth choir, served as a candy striper for the nurses guild and participated in the Youth Department activities where she developed a love for music, performance and creative arts. At the age of six, Whitney began to play the piano and also played the cello through out her school years. She also studied ballet for several years and in her senior year was selected to perform with the EL Singers, an elite chorale at East Lansing High School. Whitney graduated from East Lansing High School in 2008 and went on to study Music Industry Management at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. She continued playing the cello while in college and was recruited to perform with the West Michigan Chamber Orchestra for the 2008-2009 year. She was employed as a Call Center Representative at Evolve Tele-Services. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend, and loved spending time at family functions and traveling with her family. Whitney also took pleasure in creating and enjoying many culinary delights. She had a beautiful smile and a generous spirit that will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Whitney transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on April 20, 2012. She leaves to cherish her memory her precious son Darius Jackson, parents LaConya and Damian Murchison of Lansing, MI; L.
